Journey and Achievements

Attended the 2023 Asia Pacific Lottery Association (APLA) Regional Conference, held from October 24-27 at The Siam Kempinski Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The event, themed “New Thinking for a Sustainable Future,” was a remarkable experience that delved into innovative ways to navigate and transform our industry amid rapid global changes. 

• Expert Insights: The conference featured an impressive lineup of industry leaders and specialists. Their keynote speeches and interactive sessions provided deep insights and sparked engaging discussions.
• WLA Executive Committee Update: We received valuable updates on the latest WLA security and risk management initiatives, underscoring the importance of staying attuned to these critical aspects.
• Social Events: The range of social events was a wonderful addition to the conference. These activities allowed us to explore the sights of Bangkok, experience its rich culture and cuisine, and network with peers from across the Asia Pacific region.

One of the standout social events was the Women in Lotteries Leadership (WILL) cocktail event, hosted by APLA Chairman Sue van der Merwe. WLA President Rebecca Paul provided an inspiring update on the WILL program, and The Lottery Corporation shared their experiences and initiatives within this important framework.

Overall, the 2023 APLA Regional Conference was an enriching experience that left Daisy with new insights and connections. It reinforced the importance of innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric strategies in ensuring the continued growth and relevance of our industry. 

 The WLA/APLA Seminar was held from May 2023  at The Sheraton, Kowloon in Hong Kong. The seminar, themed ‘Leading Through Transformation,’ explored dynamic and empowering ways to embrace change within our industry, focusing on learning, growth, collaboration, and transformation.

1. New Products and Business Models: The sessions on innovative products and emerging business models were particularly enlightening. And discussed how to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing landscape.
2. Talent Management: Strategies for attracting and retaining top talent were a major focus. The insights shared on this topic were invaluable for ensuring our organizations remain competitive.
3. New Technology: The application of new technologies was a recurring theme, highlighting how advancements are revolutionizing our industry.
4. Combating Illegal Lotteries: The session delved into effective responses to illegal lotteries, learning from experts and sharing best practices.

Overall, the 2023 WLA/APLA Seminar was an incredible experience, offering valuable insights, meaningful connections, and unforgettable memories. The focus on transformation and innovation left the participants  inspired and excited for the future of this  industry.

One of the key focuses of the Martin Group and SpaceZone India project is the development of reusable rocket stages capable of carrying diverse payloads to low Earth orbit (LEO). On January 15, 2023, the Rotary Club of Pollachi proudly presented a prestigious award to Mrs. Daisy Martin Arjuna in recognition of her outstanding contributions to women's empowerment through the Aakruthi Project, Threlaksha. This award, titled "Uplifting the Economic Wellbeing of Single Mothers and Tribal Women," highlights the transformative impact of her work on the lives of marginalized women.

Mrs. Daisy's dedication to enhancing the economic stability and independence of single mothers and tribal women has been nothing short of inspirational. The Aakruthi Project, Threlaksha, under her leadership, has provided these women with the necessary tools, resources, and training to achieve financial self-sufficiency and improved quality of life.

The Rotary Club of Pollachi's recognition of Mrs. Daisy Martin Arjuna's efforts underscores the importance of initiatives that promote economic empowerment and social upliftment.
